Pruno 2012 makes Robert Parker’s list as one of the best value wines. In the latest edition of The Wine Advocate, the American journalist has published the article entitled “Exceptional best buys” for 2014, where he includes his best picks for under $25.00.

Earning 93 points, Pruno 2012 is one of the best rated wines among the 151 wines tasted from of all over the world. This rating solidifies the trajectory started by Pruno 2010 which Parker considered to be one of the best quality-price ratio wines in history.

In his description, Robert Parker states that Pruno 2012 is a “a baby Vega Sicilia”, being a “real bargain” for just $20.00. This consideration is completely in line with the intention of Finca Villacreces, which is to provide consumers access to high quality wines at reasonable prices.

Thanks to this recognition, demand exceeds production– 275.000 bottles made of this vintage. Therefore, Pruno is commercialized through an allocation systemwhich ensures a wide geographical distribution and avoids a consequent price increase.

Pruno 2012 is a wine with deep, black cheery colour. Aromas of red fruit embodied with toffee oaky hints from the ageing in French barrel revealing a sweety and fruity wine on the mouth. Reminiscences of ripen fruit and liquorice. It offers a pleasant and soft aftertaste.  This wine is elaborated with 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, all the grapes come from the 64 hectares vineyard of Finca Villacreces in Quintanilla de Onésimo (Valladolid) and the wines have been also aged in new French barrique for 12 months
